Easter Seals Chip In for the Kids – January 6-7

For a donation to Easter Seals Camp Shawnigan – a fully accessible overnight summer camp program for children and adults with disabilities – Local Lions Clubs will dispose of your live Christmas tree in an environmentally-friendly manner. It’s a great way to end the holiday season of giving, knowing your donation will help send children and adults with disabilities to camp.

Donated Wanted for Art at the Lake – February 4, 11 & 18

We are seeking donations of all kinds of art and collectibles for an online auction fundraiser for the Prospect Lake District Community Association:

– prints, originals, oils, watercolours, pastels, prints, posters … – statuary, vases, vessels, interesting sets of glassware

Donations will be gratefully received at the Prospect Lake Community Hall between 10 am and 2 pm on Sunday February 4, 11 and 18. Volunteers will meet your vehicle to unload your items.

Proceeds will be used to help maintain the Prospect Lake Community Hall, one of the few remaining community owned halls in BC.

TC10K 2024 – April 28

Lace up those kicks, dust off your brightest neon gear, and get ready to time-warp to an era when mixtapes set the mood and pop culture icons ruled the world. It’s going to be all that and a bag of chips. Whether you’re strolling, jogging, or sprinting, you’re in for a blast from the past. So, hit the streets of downtown Victoria with us, and let’s get jiggy with it, reliving the ’90s while making new memories in 2024 at the TC10K. Hit me baby one more time! Register now!

Our Place Coldest Night of the Year – February 24

Please join us on February 24 for Coldest Night of the Year. Coldest Night is an event that takes place across Canada, when tens of thousands of people will step outside the warmth and comfort of their homes to shine a light of welcome and inclusion. In the Victoria area, Coldest Night of the Year is organized by Our Place Society and Pacific Centre for Family Services Association. All money raised will support our vital local services. Please join us on February 24, downtown or in the Westshore, for our 2km or 5km walk. Together, we’ll stand up for the people experiencing poverty and homelessness in our community. 2024 Goddess Run – March 3, 2024

Did you set a 2024 New Year Goal to run/walk a 5K or 10K? If you did, then we have the perfect event for you! Join the Victoria Goddess Run taking place on March 3, 2024 at Beaver Lake.

Included with registration is a medal, Goddess Toque, Outway Goddess Socks, personalized race number with timing, online Facebook Training Group and if you join now, access to our 5K & 10K training plans.

This year’s event will raise money for Victoria Women’s Transition House, Military Families Resource Centre and Victoria Hospice. We’ve raised $265,000 to date for charity.

Fashion Splash – February 17

Victoria’s premier local designer fashion event, Fashion Splash 2024, aims to showcase our talented local fashion industry here on Vancouver Island, featuring local designers, models, and beauty industry professionals. This year we have added a Fashion Market.

Guests can expect a vibrant atmosphere complete with cocktails and refreshments, an interactive photo booth, and a stylish selfie lounge while waiting for the fashion show to start. The VIP experience will include a front row seat to the fabulous fashion show, an exclusive swag bag, food and a drink and live entertainment before the show.

This years Fashion Splash event will be supporting the Victoria Women’s Transition House, and all of the proceeds from the silent auction will go towards supporting those in need. Join us for an exciting evening of fashion and charity! Buy tickets here.

Victoria Symphony presents Victoria in Love – January 27-28

Love is in the air with dances and romances performed by the Victoria Symphony. The stage of the Royal Theatre heats up with the story of Romeo and Juliet, as told through the music of Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, and Bernstein’s West Side Story. Plus, Broadway vocalist Lizzie Klemperer will have the audience swooning with favourites ranging from Les Misérables to “Moon River” and more.

Intrepid Theatre’s OUTStages Festival – January 31 – February 11

Intrepid Theatre’s 10th anniversary OUTstages Festival returns to heat up your winter from January 31 to February 11 with a line-up of leading artists from across the country. There is theatre, comedy, drag, dance, late-night cabarets, and free workshops. This year’s festival includes a world premiere from award-winning storyteller Ivan Coyote and a co-presentation with Dance Victoria.
