Victoria MS Walk – May 26

Join us on Sunday, May 26th, at the 2024 Victoria MS Walk, at Cadboro-Gyro Park, as our community walks together to show that no person living with multiple sclerosis is alone.

Canada has one of the highest rates of multiple sclerosis (MS) in the world, with an estimated 90,000 Canadians living with the disease. On average, 12 Canadians are diagnosed with MS every day.

YBN’s Through the Looking Glass: an Alice in Wonderland Casino Night supporting Help Fill a Dream – April 18

VICA’s Young Builders Network – Victoria is excited to present Through the Looking Glass: an Alice in Wonderland Charity Casino. Proceeds from this year’s charity casino will benefit the Help Fill A Dream Foundation. The last in-person YBN Casino raised $30,000 for Help Fill a Dream and we think we can beat that this year! IT’S BACK! Our Spring Clothing Swap in partnership with The Bay Centre will be hosted on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Bay Centre. Must be 19+.
Registration is now open! This is your chance to refresh your closet with up to 10 new to you spring/summer items.

Oh Snap! The TC10K is making a ’90s comeback! Join us on Sunday, April 28th, 2024, as we celebrate like it’s 1990 to honor the 35th annual of this legendary event.

Lace up those kicks, dust off your brightest neon gear, and get ready to time-warp to an era when mixtapes set the mood and pop culture icons ruled the world. It’s going to be all that and a bag of chips. Whether you’re strolling, jogging, or sprinting, you’re in for a blast from the past.

So, hit the streets of downtown Victoria with us, and let’s get jiggy with it, reliving the ’90s while making new memories in 2024 at the TC10K.

Beer, Bacon and Bourbon Festival – June 22

The much-anticipated Langford Bacon Beer and Bourbon Festival returns to Starlight Stadium for its second year on June 22nd, 2024. Following the immense success of its inaugural edition, the festival promises an even bigger and bolder celebration of the best seasonal beers, batch bourbon cocktails, and pork-forward chef creations.

Inspired by unique pairings between chefs and mixologists, the festival will delight attendees with bold, rich flavours that elevate the BBQ season in an ode to the sun gods. From ice-cold beers to tantalizing batch cocktails and the savoury taste of bacon, the Langford Bacon Beer and Bourbon Festival offers an unforgettable experience for all adult attendees. Broadmead Care Shred-a-Thon – April 27

On Saturday, April 27th, pack up your paper documents and watch them get shredded at Broadmead Care’s Shred-a-Thon!

With the support of Best Shredding, a professional mobile shredding truck will be on site to safely shred your confidential or unwanted paper documents. It’s the perfect task to add to your spring cleaning to-do list!

You can even pre-pay for your shredding making your trip quicker than ever! The event will take place in the lower parking lot of Veterans Memorial Lodge 4579 Chatterton Way, Victoria BC from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (or until the shredding truck is FULL). Suggested contribution $10 / box.

This event is an important fundraiser for Nigel House, a Broadmead Care Home. Funds raised will help the residents of Nigel House access companion services in our community. Learn more or donate to Nigel House online here.

Victoria Conservatory of Music Mother’s Day Musical Garden Tour – May 11-12

Join us for the Victoria Conservatory of Music’s signature fundraising event!

This beloved self-guided garden tour celebrates mothers, music, and our rich garden culture right here in the City of Gardens. Now in its 42nd year, this year’s tour features ten springtime garden gems from all over Greater Victoria – each one unique and sure to inspire.

Your $45 ticket includes two days of exclusive access to ten private gardens, musical performances by our talented students and faculty, and master gardeners at select locations. Buy online (until April 29), at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, or at outlet locations across Victoria.

The Lehman Trilogy presented by The Belfry Theatre – April 23 – May 19

The Lehman Trilogy opens April 23 at the Belfry Theatre and continues until May 19th. On a cold September morning in 1844, Heyam, a young man from Bavaria stands on a New York dockside dreaming of a new life in the new world. He is soon joined by Mendel and Mayer, and the Lehman brothers’ journey begins.

The growth of global capitalism exposes the fault lines of the American dream. The Lehman brothers’ rise from shopkeepers to bankers, from obscurity to prominence, navigating the Civil War, the Great Depression, and generations of ethical dilemmas. It is an epic journey, an epic play, and a theatrical tour de force.

Intrepid Theatre Incoming Festival – April 11-20

Victoria Symphony Spectacular Spring Gala – May 3

Join the Victoria Symphony for an extraordinary evening in support of the musicians and their youth education programs. The Spectacular Spring Gala is Friday May 3, 6:00pm to 10:00pm in the Crystal Ballroom at the Fairmont Empress Hotel. Enjoy a champagne reception, gourmet dinner, and exclusive private concert with the Symphony and guest soloists Lorraine Min and Terence Tam.
